1994 Mazda RX-7 FD3S Type R - 27,600 km - Black (PZ) - Rebuilt Engine - France
The Mazda RX-7 FD3S is widely regarded as one of the most balanced and technically ambitious Japanese sports cars of its era. At its core is the 13B-REW twin-rotor twin-turbocharged rotary engine, mounted behind the front axle for near-perfect weight distribution. The Type R is the purest specification — stripped of comfort options, focused entirely on driving dynamics. With a kerb weight of around 1,260 kg and sequential twin turbos producing 255 ps, the FD3S Type R delivers a driving experience that remains unique to this day.
This January 1994 example has covered only 27,600 km and is finished in its original Black (PZ) paint. The 13B-REW engine has been fully rebuilt in Japan, with compression results recorded after the rebuild. The car is registered in France with Japanese maintenance records available. Interior shows wear consistent with age — complete and original, but not concours.

Engine Rebuild — Compression Test Results
The 13B-REW was fully rebuilt in Japan. A compression test was performed after the rebuild with the following results:
- Front rotor: 118 / 117 / 119 psi
- Rear rotor: 122 / 123 / 120 psi
These figures are consistent and well within the ideal range for a rebuilt 13B-REW. For reference: 110-125 psi is excellent, 95-110 psi is good condition, below 95 psi indicates wear. The variance between faces of the same rotor is under 3 psi in all cases, confirming even apex seal condition across both rotors.
History Note
The previous owner stopped using the vehicle when the engine began to show signs of wear. The car was sold to a garage where the rebuild was carried out, then acquired by Toprank Europe. This explains the combination of very low original mileage and recent mechanical refurbishment.
