Step by Step
Initial Briefing & Mandate
You define your sourcing criteria: model, year, mileage, budget, condition grade. We set up your B2B account and both parties sign the Purchase Mandate before any activity begins.
Deposit
A deposit of 10% of your vehicle budget (minimum €1,500 per vehicle) is required before any auction participation. The deposit is held by Toprank Europe and applied against your purchase.
Cost Simulation
Before any bid, we provide a detailed simulation: vehicle price estimate, Japan auction fees, export costs, CIF shipping estimate, and any known EU import duties. Nothing is hidden.
Bid Validation
You approve the maximum bid amount in writing (email or WhatsApp) before every auction. We never bid beyond your validated ceiling. Written validation is legally binding.
Purchase & Japan Payment
On successful purchase, the vehicle price is payable within 10 calendar days, paid directly to Japan. Japan agency fees and CIF shipping are invoiced separately.
Pre-Delivery Inspection & Shipping
A free inspection at USS Tokyo is included when available. We coordinate export from Japan, loading in shared container, and marine insurance. All export documents are prepared by Toprank Japan.
European Arrival & Customs
Customs duties, VAT, port fees, and customs clearance are paid directly to your appointed freight forwarder or customs broker. We provide all documents needed for clearance and homologation.
Optional Service
Professional clients may optionally subscribe to the NINJA service (Next Integral Network for Japanese used-car Auction), providing real-time access to Japanese auction data via the Ninja Cartrade platform.

Japanese Auction Vehicle Purchasing Service — B2B · Version 1.0 · Effective February 5, 2025
This is an English translation provided for information purposes. In case of discrepancy with the French original, the French version prevails.
These General Terms and Conditions of Sale (GTC) apply exclusively to professional clients (B2B) using the Japanese auction vehicle purchasing service offered by TOPRANK EUROPE SAS. Any request from a private individual (B2C) will be refused or redirected to the dedicated offer.
TOPRANK EUROPE acts as an intermediary and agent, with an obligation of means and not of result. Vehicles are purchased through Japanese auction houses, according to their own rules, and are sold "as is, where is". TOPRANK EUROPE is neither the seller, nor the repairer, nor the guarantor of the vehicles.
This process ensures cost transparency and limits risks related to auction market volatility.
Fixed agency fee: €833.33 excl. VAT per vehicle
Japan costs include agency fees calculated as follows:
Formula: ¥40,000 + 5% × (vehicle price − applicable threshold)
Annual adjustment based on volume (previous calendar year):

TOPRANK JAPAN is the parent company of TOPRANK EUROPE, established as a separate legal entity based in Japan. TOPRANK JAPAN acts exclusively as auction broker and export coordinator. TOPRANK JAPAN does not sell the vehicles, does not guarantee their condition, does not perform any reconditioning, and does not provide any mechanical warranty. Vehicles are purchased based on Japanese auction reports, without warranty.
The deposit is held by TOPRANK EUROPE for the duration of the mandate. In the absence of a purchase after 6 months of activity, the Client may request a refund of the deposit, less any services performed pursuant to Article 12.
Vehicle Price & CIF: The vehicle price and CIF costs are paid directly to Japan. TOPRANK EUROPE does not collect funds related to the vehicle purchase.
Deadlines: Vehicle price payable within 10 calendar days. Export / shipping / Japan agency fees are invoiced separately.
Currency Risk: Euro estimates are indicative and based on the exchange rate at time of simulation. The Client assumes the currency risk between the validation date and the payment date.
Customs duties, VAT, port fees and customs clearance fees are payable directly to the freight forwarder / customs broker. These costs are not collected by TOPRANK EUROPE.
In accordance with Article L.441-10 of the French Commercial Code, in case of late payment: late payment penalties shall be due at a rate of 3 times the legal interest rate, without prior formal notice. A fixed indemnity of €40 for recovery costs shall also be due.
In case of non-payment of CIF invoices in full 15 days after vessel departure, TOPRANK EUROPE reserves the right to: (a) retain the original documents, resulting in possible parking or demurrage fees at the Client's expense; and/or (b) import the vehicle in its own name, with subsequent delivery to the Client only after full payment of outstanding invoices, taxes and duties, and storage and administrative fees.
In case of document retention, documents shall be delivered to the Client within 5 business days following full payment of amounts due.
As long as no vehicle has been purchased, the Client may terminate. TOPRANK EUROPE will only invoice services actually performed (research, auction sheet translations, consulting). Cap: €416.67 excl. VAT, deducted from the deposit. No fees if fewer than 3 serious proposals have been submitted.
Definition of a serious proposal: a vehicle meeting the criteria defined in Article 3, with a Japanese auction sheet transmitted to the Client and a budget estimate within the validated maximum amount.
Optional access via Ninja Cartrade: €41.67 excl. VAT / month. Minimum commitment: 6 months, in 6-month increments.
Neither party shall be held liable for any delay or non-performance resulting from a force majeure event within the meaning of Article 1218 of the French Civil Code. The affected party shall inform the other party as soon as possible. If the event continues beyond 60 days, either party may terminate the contract without compensation.
TOPRANK EUROPE collects and processes the Client's personal data in the context of performing this contract, in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Data is retained for the applicable legal period. The Client has the right to access, rectify and delete their data by contacting: info@toprankeurope.com. These GTC are governed by French law. Any dispute shall fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Strasbourg.
